Dr. Salaam is an accomplished General Surgeon with a wealth of credentials and experience. He completed his General Surgery residency and training at prestigious institutions such as Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, USA. Notably, he also holds a Fellowship training and certificate in Robotic/Minimally Invasive and Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery from Albany Medical College / Albany Medical Center – USA.

His achievements encompass the first endoscopic bariatric revision procedure at Winchester Medical Center and the pioneering advanced robotic abdominal wall reconstruction procedure using the innovative robotic eTEP technique at the same hospital.

Dr. Salaam’s educational journey includes two years of dedicated research at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, followed by the completion of his General Surgery training at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. His achievements culminated in obtaining the coveted certificate of the American Board of Surgery. Subsequently, he pursued further specialization through the Bariatric, Minimally Invasive, and Robotic Surgery Fellowship at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. There, under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Singh, a prominent figure in robotic surgery, Dr. Salaam honed his skills and insights. This training laid the foundation for his role as a consultant surgeon at Winchester Medical Center.

Dr. Salaam is particularly acclaimed for his specialization in minimally invasive surgical interventions for obesity and metabolic disorders, leveraging laparoscopic and robotic techniques. His proficiency encompasses robotic surgery for weight loss, abdominal wall hernia, and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

Dr. Salaam holds prestigious titles including being American Board Certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His active memberships in esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the American Hernia Society (AHS) underscore his commitment to professional growth and development.
