Fees and Refunds Policy

Fees and Refunds Policy

a) Current position

Our CME/CPD activities are currently provided to participants without charge. No fees are payable to register, attend, or receive certificates, and no refund or money‑back arrangements are currently applicable.

Where an activity is advertised as free, no hidden charges, compulsory subscriptions, or mandatory purchases will be imposed as a condition of attendance or of receiving a certificate.

At the date of this policy, participants can assume that our CME/CPD activities are free at the point of access and that no payment is required. No paid activity will be launched without a clear written statement of applicable fees, refund rights, and any money‑back guarantees.

b) Future fee‑based activities

If in future any CME/CPD activities involve participant fees, we will publish a clear and accessible Fees and Refunds Policy before you register. This will set out:

  • The total price of the activity (including any taxes or mandatory charges), and how and when payment is to be made.
  • Many of our participants will be ‘consumers’ under UK law, even where they undertake our activities for professional development. We will make clear where consumer rights apply and will not misrepresent your status. Relevant UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 on distance contracts, will apply where applicable.
  • Any cooling‑off or cancellation rights available to UK consumers, including the length of any cancellation period, how to cancel, and any circumstances in which cancellation rights may be lost (for example, where you ask us to begin delivering the service immediately).
  • The conditions for any money‑back guarantee (for example, time limits, attendance or completion requirements, and what you must do if you are dissatisfied), which will be clearly worded, reasonable, and will not restrict any statutory rights you may have. Any money‑back guarantee conditions will be reasonable, clearly explained, and proportionate. We will not impose unfair obstacles that make it unduly difficult for you to exercise your guarantee.
  • Whether partial refunds, rescheduling, or transfer to a later date are available if we have to cancel or significantly change an activity, and what remedies will be offered in those circumstances.
  • Any non‑refundable elements (for example, where clearly justified administrative costs apply), with transparent explanation.

c) Principles for fee and refund arrangements

Any future fee and refund arrangements will be designed to:

  • Comply fully with applicable UK consumer and contract law for distance and online sales, including transparency about price, key terms, and your rights.
  • Meet relevant CPD/CME accreditation expectations regarding fair and transparent charging practices.
  • Reflect Islamic principles of fairness (adl), honesty (sidq), and avoidance of exploitation, including clear disclosure of what is being offered and avoidance of unjust enrichment, uncertainty (gharar), or deception in financial dealings.
  • Avoid high‑pressure or misleading sales practices (for example artificial scarcity or non‑transparent discounting), in line with consumer‑protection law and Islamic principles against deception and unjust gain.

d) Partner‑delivered activities

If specific CPD/CME activities are delivered in partnership with other organisations that collect fees directly, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure that their published fees and refund policies are clear, lawful, and consistent with these principles, and we will signpost participants to the appropriate provider’s terms and contact route for any payment‑related queries or complaints.

e) Governing law

This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales. If there is any inconsistency between this policy and mandatory local law where you are based, mandatory local law will prevail to the extent of that inconsistency.
